Great book for a somebody who wants to have a more fulfilling life!
It's a funny, smart and important book. The writing flows so naturally that it just flies. Francis Tapon breaks the book into 7 chapters to correspond to his 7 ah-has, or lessons, that he learned on the Appalachian Trail. Six of them have to do with mental/spiritual issues and one of them has to do with the body (health/diet/fitness).The book helped me to understand the best ways of living my life in a more healthy and more fulfilling way! I love to backpack, and anyone who does has to get this book! But this book isn't a backpacking book and you can find it quite useful even if you hate backpacking. Read it, and you'll smile and go forward to your dreams!

I was searching for my next BHAG (big harry ambitious goal) when I spotted Hike Your Own Hike at the bookstore. "Packed" with info!
This book is truly a "how-to guide". The writer has "packed" a lot of great, helpful information that can be easily utilized by the new backpacker as well as a more seasoned "packer".If you are someone considering taking a backpacking trip and are like me in the sense that you "mean to do things," but forget to make a "to do list", this book is a MUST HAVE! The writer covers what seems to be absolutely everything. Paperwork needed, what to pack and not to pack, how to make travel arrangements, how to budget, and more. Really, I cannot imagine that there is anything that this writer has not addressed.I also like that the writer started the book by providing a history of backpacking. I know I learned a few things.If you are taking a backpacking trip, and especially if you are inexperienced, this book is definitely a must have!

Good information here
This how-to guide was full of information. Very in-depth on the subject. After reading this guide I feel like I am ready to get my backpack and travel! The author includes everything from planning your trip to useful tips on everything from what to pack, what paperwork you need and how to manage your money.There are subjects covered here that I wouldn't have thought about , I especially learned a lot about how to safeguard my papers and belongings and what kind of a to- do list I would need to make . These are very cute tiny little hardback notebooks. They have BLANK pages, but look like miniature copies of the real books. There are two different pictures for each story, one from the real book and one that is from the book, but not the original cover. They're a little smaller than a regular-sized post-it pad, but not hard to write little notes in. I've already found several little girls who like to draw in these.

Love these little notebooks
I never had the thought that these would be the real story, I was wanting a blank books. I bought these as party favors for my daughter's Seuss birthday party and they were an absolute hit with all the kids. My daughter loves her, and it's small enough to fit in my purse so anytime she needs paper to draw on, I have it right there. The art work on the covers, and the quality of how they are made is wonderful. To get 24 of them at this price makes it a great value!
